This May, Sydneysiders will have the opportunity to raise funds for Sustainable Table simply by checking out EcoXpo 2012 - a truly green fair that will showcase hundreds of products and services, as well as education seminars that make living sustainably a little easier.
Each year EcoXpo supports charity organisations that contribute to the well-being of our planet, and this year, Sustainable Table is one of them! By downloading the specially-labelled coupon below, you’ll receive half-priced ($5) entry to the expo, and we’ll receive $1. It’s a win-win kind of arrangement! Alternatively you can save this barcode to your smart phone and present it at the entry gate for scanning (in which case the trees will win too).
The expo offers a series of free seminars covering a wide range of topics, from the dangers of electromagnetic pollution and the role of the ‘Abdominal brain’ (just the title is enough to get your head spinning!) to organic wine making and environmental conservation.
There’ll be live cooking demos showcasing organic produce as well as sustainable seafood - so bring your notebook and make sure you snap up a few new tips.
At the expo you’ll also be able to find out more about eco travel, learn about how to turn your house into an earth-friendly one, check out the latest in eco health and fashion, and of course, indulge in some organic food and wine.
Another plus is that you can bring in your recyclable PET or aluminium cans and in exchange get discount coupons to use at the fair.
The EcoXpo practice what they preach – the event is carbon neutral, and they place the bar high for participants, making sure only businesses that adhere to certified organic and good environmental practice can attend.
The expo, which is in its third year, will be rolling out its national program next year, so make sure you check out the webpage for details on when it’ll be in a city near you.
When: 10am to 4pm, 12 to 13 May 2012
